A new Year!

How many times have you been asked what your "new years resolutions" are?  My daughter asked me that last week and I told her I had none.  New years resolutions are silly, made to be broken in a few weeks or days right?  ( like the ever constant, I am gonna lose weight, diet and blah blah blah!

My thouhgts are that if you want to make some changes, do it NOW, don't wait till a new year.  Of course there could be lots of things I would like to change, and I plan to.  But the biggest thing I want to do is to continue to be my own life manager!   Running a country or a big cooperation is not for me.  Politics never attracted me nor did civil service.  Running my own plumbing and remodeling business is my calling, and managing my life is my responsibility   What do I mean to be a "life manager"?   Simply this:  We get up everyday with choices and duties which can be done right or wrong, with joy or dread.  The field is not always level when it comes to health, appearance, wealth, family and background.  But the field IS level in a few areas.
1. We all have 24 hours in a day.
2. All of us eat, drink, dress and breath.
3  We all make many choices each day and hour.
4. We all must die and stand before a Holy God in judgement.

So, I want to  be a good manager of how I spend my time, what I eat and drink, how I dress, how I treat people , what kind of attitude I display, how I REACT to others actions and words.  No way can I determine how others will act or what they will do or say.  But I can control how I react.

In our lives we have several priorities.   Our spiritual lives, our family lives, our bodies, our finances, our attitudes.  We should give an account to ourselves everyday -- as if we were reporting to a manager- as to how we did that day.  Then we can make adjustments as needed, repent as needed and improve!

So for 2019 my goal is to be full time my own life manager.

It's hard to believe that this year has come and gone.  It has been a very momentous year for Ann and me and my entire family.   In January I stepped aside from a job I had held for 14 years and started my own business.  From day one I have been swamped with business-- seems that everyone has a toilet and bathroom!!   Never do I wish a clogged toilet on anyone but it does give me plenty to do.  My specialty is kitchen and bathroom remodeling such as new tubs, showers, counters, sinks, faucets, heated floors and the like.  But I also take care of many other things around the house such as water heaters, doors, trim, flooring, painting, and all around repairs.  It has been a wonderful start and I look forward to serving my customers in 2019!

Speaking of my customers, I want to say THANKS!!  I love you!  My goal is to serve you well and do a good job. That is what I will continue to strive to do.  One of my goals this year is to become proficient in Tankless water heaters, which I believe is the future of hot water.  To this end I will be taking classes in Georgia on installation and service.

The Lord Jesus Christ has been good to Ann and me and our family.   I want to give a big shout out to my brothers and sisters at Westminster Presbyterian Church!!  No place I would rather be.   And I want to say to all of you Merry Christmas and have a very blessed 2019!

Hand Held Shower head

If you want to really improve your shower or bath experience there are several ways to upgrade the shower area.   Shower heads are generally fixed in one spot so that reguardless of your height, you just have to deal with it. Often I encounter shorter ladies who cannot reach the shower head to adjust it or a guy who is so tall that he has to bend down to wash his hair.  You could have a new faucet installed and the placement of the shower head moved to fit your style, but that involves some demolition and a higher cost.  One solution is to have a handheld shower head installed.   It can be done easily and it gives you a large range of motion.  You can get a slider bar to move it up and down or you can just use the swivel to place it where it suits your needs.  Also, you can take it down and hold it in your hand. We put one in our house and I love it.  They come in chrome, brushed, oil rubbed bronze and other finishes.  And they look good too.
Go for it!!
